Easter   Jeffrey Malone 3/26/2024 12:16:45 PM
A study of Easter includes far more than the doctrine of Christ’s Resurrection. Acts 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Easter is the principal festival of the Christian church that celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his Crucifixion. (from Aramaic פסחא, paṣḥā' and Hebrew פסח, peṣaḥ, the Passover festival)

The Psalms of Repentance are a collection of psalms in the Book of Psalms (Psalm 6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, and 143 in some traditions) that are particularly focused on themes of repentance, confession, and seeking forgiveness from God. These psalms are often used in prayers and reflections for personal repentance and spiritual renewal.

Historical Psalms   Jeffrey Malone 3/5/2024 1:47:16 PM
The historical psalms are those basing their message on the history of God's dealings with His people. They are in two general classes: Those using a historical narrative of some part of Israel's history … such as Psalms 78, 105, 106, 135, 136 Those using a personal reflection or meditation that is based on a historical reality ... such as Psalms 44, 66, 89, 107, etc. In this defining process do not confuse the character of a historical psalm with the historical background that may be seen for other psalms (i.e. titles).

Messianic Psalms   Jeffrey Malone 2/27/2024 8:40:01 AM
These Psalms are called Messianic Psalms because they are quoted in the New Testament in direct reference to the Lord Jesus Christ. In the Psalms, also called The Psalter, Christ is spoken of in it more than any other book in the Old Testament. These are a collection of one hundred-fifty prayers and praises to the Lord and placed in the canon of scripture to be read and sung to music by God’s people. They characterize Christ fully as the Divine Messiah. Jesus Christ is the central figure, and we have a complete picture of His ministry. It records His: coming, incarnation, death, sufferings, resurrection, ascension, offices, (Prophet, Priest, King) life, character, glory and kingdom. They are rich in the theme being the King and His kingdom.

David   Jeffrey Malone 1/9/2024 11:50:34 AM
David, often referred to as King David, was the second king of Israel and a central figure in the Bible. Known for his shepherd origins, he gained fame by defeating the giant Goliath with a sling and stone. As king, he united the tribes of Israel, established Jerusalem as the capital, and is credited with composing many Psalms. David's reign is characterized by military successes, but his personal life is marked by both triumphs and moral failings, notably his affair with Bathsheba. Despite his flaws, he is remembered as a significant figure in Judaism and Christianity, symbolizing the complex nature of leadership and faith.

Romans 12, 13, 14, 15, & 16 - Step Seven Web   Jeffrey Malone 8/29/2023 12:18:52 PM
In Romans chapters 12 through 16, Paul addresses various aspects of Christian living. He emphasizes presenting oneself as a living sacrifice, transforming one's mind, and practicing love and humility within the community. He advocates serving as members of one body with diversity and zeal. Paul offers commands regarding relationships, love, good and evil, service to God, and responding to persecution. He discusses responsibilities to governmental authorities and the importance of love and moral purity. He talks about dealing with strong and weak brethren, being true to one's conscience, and avoiding stumbling blocks. Paul urges unity and patience, praising the churches in Macedonia and Achaia for their generosity. The final chapter ends with farewells, a warning against division, and a doxology praising God's wisdom and glory through Jesus Christ.

Water Baptism in a Christian’s Life   Jeffrey Malone 8/22/2023 1:24:14 PM
Baptism is an ordinance immediately instituted by Christ (Matthew 28:19, Matthew 28:20) and designed to be observed in the church, like that of the Lord's Supper, "till he come”. The words "baptize" and "baptism" are simply Greek words transferred into English. It means to dip a thing into an element or liquid. To baptize something in water means to put it under the water. All of the instances of baptism recorded in the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 2:38-41; Acts 8:26-39; Acts 9:17, Acts 9:18; Acts 22:12-16; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 16:32-34) suggest that it was by dipping the person baptized by immersion.
