What is a Servicemen's Home?

A Servicemen's Home is both a church and a home for military personnel where they are welcome and wanted at all hours of the day and night.  It's a place of refuge where they can receive Christian fellowship, prayer, devotions, and friendship.

The Home at Fort Eisenhower

The Servicemen's Home here in Augusta, GA has a rich history of faith and encouragement for many, many servicemembers.  The Fort Gordon Servicemen's Home was established on Karleen Road in Hephzibah around 1980, and soon after a church was built nearby on the property.  Through the years, lives have been touched and enriched in that small home.  In 2016, a house was purchased in the Hephzibah area, which continues to be the refuge that has proven so valuable to so many.  We are thankful for all who have come before us, those who worked to make the home a place of victory and hope for the military stationed here.

New Testament Christian Churches of America, Inc. celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2019, and we are thankful for all that God has done here in the Fort Eisenhower area during that time, and we look forward to continuing the mission to reach out to our soldiers and their families.

Additionally, for our single servicemembers, we sponsor a program called Operation Life Readiness (OLR) on Friday evenings at the home. Sometimes its a recreation night with refreshments, other times it may be an outdoor adventure such as fishing, nerf arena, go-karts, bowling or golfing. OLR is an activity for our single military personnel to be able to make better life choices and having fun without getting into trouble. Contact our Pastor if you have any questions or would like to participate in OLR.
